As design editor for The Torch, UMass Dartmouth's student-run newspaper, my first task was to create a new logo for the newspaper's flag. I knew I wanted to include a flame to represent a torch, and turning the T of "Torch" into part of the design seemed like a natural solution to me. This logo can be either integrated into the organization's typed name, or used as a standalone icon. In order to have the most options for application, it was a priority to come up with a design that would look good in color, grayscale, and monochromatic.
